Shockers and Stunners
It's good to see the celebrity-visibility of our ground-breaking P90X continues to spread simply by the awesome spectacle of real results. Exercise and eating right, it works. You might say "Yeah but Demi and Ashton HAVE to workout and eat right. If my career depended on it, I'd be more consistent too!"THAT'S why we created the Team Beachbody Coach Network and the Million Dollar Body Game. Your income can be positively affected by your health and fitness transformation, but you have to go for it.
I am proud of the Stunners featured in
InTouch, and sorry for the Shocker. (Being underweight is as debilitating as being obese.)Everybody deserves to be healthy, and everyone has the power to decide to take control of their situation. Team Beachbody coaches are helping people get access to solutions every single day. It's a pleasure to work beside people who get it and people who care.

Well said Carl.

Cancer-free and looking good!

Cut your cancer risk and look better naked!

July 27, 2009 — A study from Finland has shown that men who exercised for at least 30 minutes a day at moderate to high intensity cut their risk of dying prematurely from cancer in half!!
The results were published online July 28, 2009 in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Physical inactivity over a person's lifespan might be a "key factor in the initiation of cancer development," the authors note.

Giving Tony Horton a Spark

Since I started P90X in 2005, it has changed my life. Tony Horton, of course, is the X-man behind P90X. I met Tony first at a fitness camp he ran in '07. I found him to be a really nice, approachable, funny guy.

At camp, he gave a lecture about how exercise builds not only your muscles, but also your brain! Exercise juices up your hippocampus and helps to actually build new brain cells in parts of your brain involved with learning and memory.

Tony's talk got me interested in the physiological effects of exercise. How it does what it does to keep us healthy and young!

When I met Tony again at the first Beachbody Coaches Summit a while back, I gave him a copy of a new book that had just come out called Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain by Harvard psychiatrist John Ratey.

Apparently he read it. Here is a picture sent to me by fellow coach Judy Z.

TonySpark

I posted it on my facebook page today, and was happy to have Tony Horton, the X-man himself respond!

"Thanks Kevin! Spark changed the way I look at cardio fitness forever."

It is great to hear that if a small way, I was able to give back to a person who has made such a profound impact on my life.

The Healthy Breakfast Club

I just got off the phone with a colleague of mine, Judi Finneran. She's a Team Beachbody coach from California who has started the coolest social networking group!

Imagine starting your day with the support of friends getting togehter over coffee and oatmeal, or Shakeology and talking about health, personal fitness journeys, struggles, and successes. Now imagine that on a nationwide scale. That is what The Healthy Breakfast Club is all about.

The HBC is FREE to join, and for anyone looking for support and motivation as they work to become healthier every day! They are about 30 minutes long, and are full of education, inspiration, and celebration. It is a non-judgemental atmosphere where people come together to help each other. You can even stay anonymous if you prefer. Hope you'll join in the fun!

I'll have an extra non-fat latte there waiting for you!

One on One for One Cent!

Adapted from Carl Daikeler's Blog:

Everybody, Pay It Forward

One on One is for people who finished Power 90 or P90X and want to switch around their Tony Horton Experience! It is a new, 45 minute workout with Tony in his home gym shipped to your door every month. Talk about muscle confusion!

Tony and Beachbody are showing gratitude for the patience, loyalty and trend-ending heroics of our customers and coaches by making a super-special offer in July!

To celebrate the launch of "Volume 2" of Tony's One-On-One series, and celebrate Tony's birthday on July 2nd, new subscribers pay just $.01 for their first month (plus $1,000 s&h... kidding! $2.95 s&h) for an amazing Cardio Intervals routine.

Plus, 2 free gifts!

Both new and current subscribers get the new "Volume 2" DVD wallet that holds the next year's worth of fabulous Hortonosity.

And to share in all this kindness; the July One-on-One DVD ships with a FREE workout called “Pay It Forward”. The Pay It Forward DVD is a first for Beachbody, where we asked a 400lb person to go through a routine with Tony. he did, and he loved it!

Your job -- give that DVD away to someone who thinks that fitness (and Tony Horton) is not accessible to them. This is a great starter program. Again, your job - give it to someone and let them see how good they can feel after just 20 mins!

But hurry! The special 1 cent offer and free gifts are only good through July!

Walk Like Abe, Swim Like Dora

This was sent to me from Beachbody Coach Donna Kinch:

I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.
- Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President

Slow and steady has not always been an inspiring concept. It's not as sexy as speed and sharp turns of direction. But it may be just the thing to keep you from running out of gas, while still moving you forward.

Abe is telling us that the most important thing is to keep walking forward, no matter how slowly. Sometimes slowness can be frustrating. You might become impatient; you might get discouraged with a setback. But a setback doesn't have to set you back. Simply using it as a learning opportunity can leapfrog you ahead again.

From now on, try paying attention more to your direction and less to your speed. Be patient, focus on a little bit at a time, and soon enough, you'll be further than you ever thought. Besides, it's a good bet that by always looking forward, Abe rarely looked back in regret.

Donna (and Abe Lincoln) remind up that weight doesn't get put on overnight. We shouldn't expect it to come off overnight, either! Plateaus and setbacks happen. Just keep plugging away.

Another Fit Doc Team Coach, Jeff Oakes, prefers to quote Dora from "Finding Nemo." Dora's advice: Just Keep Swimming!
